Well, we're going to 'Music City, USA'! That's right - we've been
selected to showcase at the Nashville New Music Conference.
Additional conference performers include The Samples and Pat DiNizio
(from the Smithereens) - wohoo! Pretty cool. We're playing at
the Cabaret, Episode 2 with Marie Gray, a great singer/songwriter
who honed her chops playing in NYC's Greenwich Village. She's done
the Bleeker Street scene including The Bitter End and Kenny's Castaways
(ironically, the very
spot where the Smithereens got their big break)! We'll be shopping
around the new material and we're performing on Sunday, October
14th. So...tell your Nashville brethren to get the hell out to the
club and support some irreverent yankees! We'll be posting pic and
maybe even video from the conference. Oh, the cd's coming.
We've been a tad sidetracked with, well, the state of the world. All
we can say is to take care of yourselves and, please, please, be
kind to others. Peace.

What a summer it's been! We got to hang out with Semisonic and Glenn
Tilbrook (yes, the one and only Squeeze-man himself!) Living Colour,
Daniel Cartier and a few precious moments with Pete Yorn -- get the cd and
see him live! Kinda makes you be glad to be one of the little guys
representin'...power pop, that is. Speaking of which, HUGE has
been mixed! Not only that, but the mastering and artwork are being
finalized as you read these very words. No firm release date yet but
we're thinking about one to two months. Come check out a little
preview performance this friday at the William Way Center (13th &
Spruce Sts, Philadelphia, PA) starting at 7:30pm. We're playing a
benefit for the Pennsylvania Gay and Lesbian Alliance (PAGALA).
There will be food, drinks, and senators (Arlen Spector will speak re:
Hate Crimes Legislation). Come check it out. Stay tuned!

Well kids, as you can see, the website redesign is underway (who doesn't love a
good makeover now and then?!).
Check out the updated pictures, info and...yes, soundclips! Pop over to
the sounds page and check out the first three
mixes from the upcoming cd, HUGE. It's like Christmas in
July! And, we'll be mixing more songs next week up in Wilkes-Barre,
PA. Check back for new info and keep an eye out for more changes to the
site.

Ok, boys and
girls - time for a quick update. FIRST, we're done recording the new cd!
Now it's on to mixing, mastering and pressing - but it's all downhill from
here. We're also finalizing cd artwork, brewing up some band merchandise,
and reformatting this website. It's all coming soon, our little minions,
REAL SOON! FINALLY,
check us out on Sunday, June 10th at Penn's Landing. We'll be performing
at the Philly Pride Parade and previewing tracks from our new cd HUGE! We're
opening the ceremonies at 1:15 pm. Come say 'hi' and let us know what you
think of the new material...if you can fight your way thru the paparazzi ;-)
p.s.
shout outs to elmo, sir scotty brannan, master photo guru sidelsky, and mr. roberts in
the big apple! A little bird told me that our good friend and former
Island recording artist Daniel Cartier
is back on the east coast. He's
doing some stints every Sunday in June at the Fez in NYC -- go, Go, GO SEE
HIM! He's amazing live - and you just might see a bootlicker or two at the
show!

Oh, so much
to share!! First, www.thebootlickers.com
is FINALLY the official gateway into this site! After a year of b*&$sh#@
we finally got our old host to release the domain name. Groovy,
baby! Second, recording is actually wrapping up for the new cd. One
more session and it's on to mixing, mastering, and pressing! The
preliminary tracks are sounding great - from anthemic power pop to intimate,
haunting little tales of paranoia. Live shows will resume in May with a
summer tour scheduled to begin in July 2001 to promote the new cd which shall be
called (drumroll please)...HUGE. It's short,
sweet, to the point and, let's face it, what everybody
wants!

Well, we
played Queerstock 2000 last night. We were the final act
following Robin Renee (NJ), Amy Simpson (San Francisco), The Garden Verge (NYC),
Angela Motter (Atlanta), Doria Roberts (Altanta), and the Robert Urban Band
(NYC). Overall
thoughts: Amy Simpson, great voice
-- The Garden Verge were stunning – Robert Urban, heavy, tight prog rock and
REALLY nice guys. The show was a lot of fun. It was our first
performance with Paul Sinclair on guitar and vocals. It appears as
if he's stepped out from the producer chair to become a full-fledged bootLICKER
- hazing details to follow!

hello boy and girls! yes, we're still here
pumping out the JAMS - woohoo! most
of our time has been taken up by recording so the site sort of fell by the
wayside but we figured it was time to check in with some updates. the 'in
bed with butch' show aired and actually featured THREE songs - 'margo',
'boots', and 'hope' (another new track). the show turned out great and got
a really good viewer response so...it was re-run in march - woohoo! the
new CD is sounding awesome. we are working with an incredible producer, Paul
Sinclair, and the addition of June Bromley
on drums has allowed us to blow the demo versions of the songs out of the
water! we'll keep you updated - we're right on schedule for a july
release. more updates including
pics and sound files are coming soon. check back and, until the new cd
arrives, do yourself a favor and pick up aimee
mann's 'bachelor no. 2' -
gorgeous sonic landscapes inhabited by wickedly incisive lyrics. absolute
bliss!

hey there - yes, there are signs of life!
hmmm, now what could account for the delay in bootLICKER updates - perhaps
months of non-stop marathon sex? unfortunately, this is NOT the
case. just a brief hiatus. well,
everything's back in order and the recording has resumed. the soundclips
are in the process of being converted to quicktime files (our new media player
of choice) and new clips are on the way...so is a CD...live gigs aren't going to
happen until feb or march but look for us on the DUTV weekly series "in
bed with butch". we
filmed an episode a few weeks ago. butch and the crew were fantastic - a
whole lotta crazy during filming and even more fun when we all partied
after the shoot (at a local pub 'doobies', which easily has the best jukebox in
philly -- chock full o' aimee mann and michael penn). the air date is thursday, jan 13th at 10pm. DUTV is
channel 54 on greater media cable. check with your cable provider for your
local DUTV broadcast channel. we're featured for the entire episode - an
extensive interview and a preview performance of 'margo fontaine and the
hollywood kids' (from the upcoming CD). we also perform a rusty but lively
version of 'these boots are made for walkin'' over the credits. let us
know what you think...and check back. big changes are coming
soon.

hi again - time for an update for everyone
in cyberland! well, the band is in the midst of recording the new,
as yet untitled, CD. we thought we had the CD track listing down
but, low and behold, a new song called "Driving" came together just a few
days ago (perhaps a double album...uh, i mean CD, could emerge from these
sessions).
the new tracks have been turning out really
well which is in no small part because of the good karma bestowed upon
us by the lucky velvet elvis painting we have to watch over us during
the "sessions". check back for an image of the velvet elvis
but, be warned - you musn't abuse its power. stay tuned boys and
girls!
oh, and be sure to check out the new demo
of "Driving" on the multimedia page and remember...a
bigger, longer, and uncut version will be on the new CD. ciao!

hi everyone, welcome to our new webpage!
well, technically it's not new - just newly redesigned. check out
the discography section where you can now
purchase our cd Universal Nancy online via a secure server - of
course, mail order is still an option.
the
BIG news: the bootLICKERS have had many interactions with drummers
but their favorite has always been a little black box named yamaha.
yamaha never talked back, never played out of time, and was an ideal touring
bandmate. yamaha didn't snore and took up almost no space in the
car. for all this convenience though, yamaha had very little character.
well, smack my a** and call me mary, the rumors are running rampant!
top secret sources have indicated that for the past several months, the
bootLICKERS have been working with a real, live drummer - the fabulous
June
Bromley! it's even been unearthed that Ms. Bromley was once the
touring drummer for Kitty Wells, the queen of country music!
the REALLY BIG news: the bootLICKERS
are now recording! do you want to impress friends at your next cocktail
party? throw some new bootLICKER song titles at them like, "Imitation
of Life" or "Get a Clue". subtly mention that you were "hanging out"
with the bootLICKERS and they were debating whether "Hope" or "Margo Fontaine
and the Hollywood Kids" should be the first single from the new cd.
you'll be guaranteed a shag (or two)!
all updates are now 'real time' and managed
by the band and our webmaster elmo - so this can now be considered
the 'official band web page'. we will soon be adding a links page
so if you know of any bootLICKER fan pages or 'unofficial' sites, email
us so we can add a link. also, the new cd is in the very early stages
but keep and eye out for new sound clips on our multimedia
page and look for more photos and updated Universal
Nancy reviews. as always, please email
us with any suggestions, bookings, festivals, general praise, and (ok,
ok) criticism. keep coming back and join us in our search for pop/rock
nirvana, baby! BEHAVE!
